چکیده

Virtual clusters spanning over resources belonging to different administration domains have to face with the computational resources brokering problem in order to allow the direct interaction among them. Typically, it requires some component collecting, elaborating and providing resources information. Currently, every virtual cluster project provides its own solution with a low degree of portability and isolation from the rest of the platform components. We propose the Information Brokering Service Provider (IBSP), a general approach which wants to represent an uniform solution adaptable to a wide set of existing platforms. Its pluggable and flexible design is based on a decentralized architecture where each of the cooperating nodes is composed by a resource interface exposing the brokering service, and a portion of a distributed information system. In this paper, we present the motivations, principles and implementation of IBSP as well as the performance of IBSP serving the Private Virtual Cluster system.

Semantic Brokering over Dynamic Heterogeneous Data Sources in InfoSleuth

InfoSleuth1 is an agent-based system for information discovery and retrieval in an open and dynamically changing environment. It implements a brokering function which combines reasoning over both the advertised syntax and semantics of agents in the InfoSleuth domain. The brokering function in a distributed or agent-based system matches processes requiring a service (requesters) with processes t...

Designing Agents with Multi-attribute Preference Models for Intelligent Telecommunication Services

In this paper, we present a multi-criteria decision aid methodology optimizing the performance of Service Provider Agents in a Virtual Private Network, according to the Specifications posed by the Foundation for Intelligent Physical Agents (FIPA). We enhance the basic protocol steps for a service brokering procedure, and apply the methodology to a specific case of Network Providers: the Interne...

The Internet Enterprise

In this paper we present our vision of the Internet Enterprise: a highly interoperable, virtual enterprise infrastructure for individuals, small businesses, and large corporations. In the Internet Enterprise (IE), any service provider can enable its business to be programmatically accessible on the Internet (becomes an e-service). Enabled by a scalable brokering service and an inter-organizatio...

Profit Based Data Center Service Broker Policy for Cloud Resource Provisioning

Hiring of Cloud resources establishes a business association between Provider and Consumer. In cloud, consumer wants to cut down costs and provider wants to earn more profit even on that cost. Here a symmetric arbitration plan by broker realizes the relationship between buyer and provider. In federated cloud computing environment resources are traded as a commodity and cloud users can migrate b...
